Privacy Policy

It is our policy to protect your Privacy, which is why we created this Platform.

Content posted by users of this Platform is encrypted with Forward Secrecy before it leaves your device.  We can't see your data.

If you choose to use our Platform, then you agree to the fine print:

  1. Registration information - The platform is anonymous, if your username resembles your real name or your avatar is an image of your likeness, that is on you.
  2. Cookies - We do not like them and do not use them.
  3. Personally Identifiable Information - Do not want it, do not collect it.
  4. Geolocation Information - We do not want to know where you are, where you have been, or where you are going to be. So we do not collect it.
  5. IP address - Seems like we covered this, we do not want it and do not collect it.
  6. Website Browsing History - We collect, sort, and disseminate all of your browsing history. Just kidding. We aren't that company. We do not want it, do not collect it.
  7. Number of social networks you bring online - We don't care. We don't want our network (the IronForge) becoming a new centralized cloud. Please, for the love of all things, setup or join as many private networks as you wish.

We do use a fake number, called a deviceid, that is created when you install the app. It doesn't let us know anything about you, but does provide us the ability to send push notifications, like "hey, you have a new message!".

Terms of Service

IronCircles was created to be a secure and safe place for friends to connect. Specific features were designed to ensure your connections in the application are with people you already know and trust.

Features to Support User Privacy:

  1. You must know a person’s username to invite them to a Circle.
  2. Users have the option of blocking other users from sending them invitations.
  3. Adding a new user to a Circle requires a vote from each Circle member. Everyone has a say in who gets added. The voting mechanism also creates a logistical challenge, by design, that prevents groups from growing too large.

Age Restriction:

You must at 17 years or older to register and use our Services.

Legal And Acceptable Use:

Cliff notes:  Don't do stupid stuff.

You agree to only use the IronCircles platform for legal, authorized, and acceptable purposes. You will not use this platform for any activity that infringes on the rights of IronCircles or others, including illegal, threatening, intimidating, harassing, ethnically or racially offensive, or that encourages conduct of illegal or inappropriate behavior.

You agree not to use or exploit our Services in unauthorized manners that might harm or disrupt our service, including creating accounts using automation, attempting to gain or gaining unauthorized access, disrupting the integrity or performance of our Services, reverse engineering or creating derivative works from code that runs our Services, or use our Services to distribute viruses or harmful code.

Your Responsibility

By accepting these terms, you agree responsibility for the security and safety of your account credentials and your device.

  1. IronCircles cannot reset your password. You need to set up account recovery by selecting 2 or more members of Circles you are in to help with password resets.
  2. A password and pin can get you onto a new device, but your chat history won't be there unless you previously enabled automatic backup of chat history in Settings.
  3. If you lose your device, your password recovery assistants can lock your account. The account will remain locked until you re-authenticate.
  4. You should not accept an invitation to a Circle from an unfamiliar username.
  5. Exercise caution when approving an invitation for a new Circle member whom you do not know.

Network Moderation:

Networks on this Platform are designed to be self-administered and moderated. Network admins are provided the tools need to manage membership  on the Network.

User controlled Circles (group chats) are designed to be self-administered and moderated. Circle members have the ability to vote on security and privacy settings, delete content, and manage membership to the Circles.

By using these Services, Network admins and Circle members agree to hold members accountable for the Legal and Acceptable Use requirements defined in this policy.

IronCircles Moderation:

There will be times when invitation only, all members get a vote, and self-administration tools are not enough.

IronCircles includes a “report inappropriate content” feature that allows any user of a Circle to raise a flag regarding a post within that Circle.

To access this feature, long press the post in question and select the report icon.

Any post reported as inappropriate will be deleted from a Circle and replaced with a Platform generated message saying “This post was reported as inappropriate based on the IronCircles Terms of Service and has been removed”.

The Circle members can then decide if further action is appropriate, such as removing the poster.
